GRIM025 - Darcy Clay - Jesus I was Evil

Front cover

Band's bio:

Introducing the one and only Kiwi king of lo-fi country-punk! New Zealand's own... Darcy Clay!
 (hold for applause)
Darcy earned his place in outsider rock lore in 1997 with only 6 songs, recorded in his bedroom to 4-track cassette tape. With catchy dirtier-than-dirt guitar riffs and a punch-drunk attitude, the breakout track "Jesus I Was Evil" is about as close to lo-fi perfection you'll ever experience. The tune climbed higher than anyone could've expected, improbably reaching #5 on New Zealand's top singles chart and catapulting the EP to gold status (more than 7500 copies sold).
Unfortunately Darcy's output is painfully sparse and we'll never know what might have been. In 1998, after a year of one amazing turn after another, he unexpectedly took his own life. He was suddenly gone, leaving us with only the 6 track EP, a handful of live recordings and the memory of one of the most fascinating young voices in rock history. He was truly ahead of his time.
We're proud to continue his story here in America with two tracks from his fabled EP. The funky-synth lo-fi masterpiece "Jesus I Was Evil" and a truly punk cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" (recorded years before the White Stripes even existed). Tell your friends. Tell your enemies. Tell everyone. Darcy Clay has arrived stateside.

Juice is an aggressive Pop-Punk band from Indianapolis, IN. Juice started in 2012 just playing cover shows for their friends and at school events. In the fall of 2013, they wanted to change that. Since fall of 2013, they put out another LP, did a self-booked 12 day tour, another 4 day weekend run and is now putting out their self-titled EP. GRIM023 - Brother O' Brother - The Itch / White Dove

Front cover

Band's bio:

Brother O’ Brother began making music with one major message in mind, love. Love’s components, makeup, societal lack, and possible encouraging solutions on how to increase love in this world. Our views on this come from our own faith and backgrounds, but we truly believe the lyrics contained in these songs are a message anyone can agree with and apply to their own world regardless of faith, color, gender, or circumstance. Brother O' Brother is trying to participate in this conversation of life by drenching guitars in fuzz, booming drums, and mountains of smoke and light. Based out of Indianapolis, B.O.B. has already toured the Midwest heavily, opened for national acts from all over the US, and have already put out two music videos, vinyl, EP, and recently released our new full length album all in a year and a half.

GRIM022 - Cody J. Martin - All Roads Lead to War / Early Days of June

Front cover
About the release:

The songs featured on this 7" release are entitled "All Roads Lead to War" and "Early Days of June". The former is a selection from Martin's aforementioned album while the latter is a unique, complementary b-side.
With a lot behind him and even much more ahead, Martin is featured for the first time on vinyl here through this Grimtale Records release.

Band's bio:

At this moment in time, Cody J. Martin is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Northeast Ohio. He has been writing and performing locally since 2011 and as recently as this past January, released his first album entitled "Somewhere You'd Rather Be" to a crowd of over 250 people in Canton, Ohio.

Closely identifying with the primal quality of traditional folk, blues and country music, Martin develops his songs to have a raw, homespun atmosphere. Add on top of that a love for surreal wordplay and you have yourself something close to a definition of his sound.
