About the release:
The "Almost Grim" cassette is made up of songs that didn't quite make the label for one reason or another. In some cases they were submissions that weren't selected, in others just other songs the bands had laying around, and in some cases a hint of future releases to come.
The tape was never sold online on grimtale records website. It was sent as gift to friends and top customers. Some copies were given to the bands.
The tape features a hand drawn custom hand drawn "Grimtale" font drawn by Doug Granger, artist who did the GRIM001 buffalo artwork. This font is unique to the label and will be used where fitting.
This tape took a long time to come to life. They were actually produced twice. The first time around, the tapes looked amazing but the sound quality was pretty bad, below what the label felt could be released.
Those tapes were destroyed and another batch was made by a different tape producing company. These first tapes were intended to be Grim's Christmas present to his fans in 2013 but due to the issues, this didn't happen :-(

Rejected first pressing:
The first pressing of the Almost Grim vol. 1 tape looked awesome the sound quality was horrible. Most of the tapes were then destroyed and a second pressing ordered from a different company. I hear rumors that the first company has since fixed their sound quality issues but it was too late at that point, sadly...
